Perth is the fouth largest city of Australia. It is the state capital and the largest city in Western Australia. It is located on the south west of continent and also the state of Western Australia. Darling range is on the east and Indian Ocean on the west with the population of about 1.6 million and growing. Most of the City of Perth is build on either side of the Swan River. It is one of the most isloated metropolitan city on earth. The nearest city with over a million population is Adelaide, which is about 2,000 Kilometers away.
Perth was founded on 12th of June 1829 by Captain james Stirling as the political centre of the free settler Swan River Colony. It was named after Perth in Scotland. It was the wishes of Sir George Murray, who was born in Perth, Scotland and was the Secretary of State for the Colonies.
Today, Perth is the thriving city on the west coast of Australia. It is also the financial, administrative and business center of Western Australia and linked to various national and international destination with both domestic and international airport making it the international gateway to the west coast of Australia.
